KEMPTON, Pa. (AP) — The wheels of justice are turning for a longtime volunteer and appointed treasurer of the Wanamaker, Kempton and Southern Railroad in eastern Pennsylvania.

WFMZ-TV (http://bit.ly/1ux59yG) said 43-year-old James Krause of Schnecksville, Lehigh County, is accused of stealing nearly $100,000 in a year's time from the scenic railroad in Berks County.

Authorities claim Krause stole more than $36,000 from the railroad's checking and savings accounts in 2013.

They also allege he made more than $22,000 in fraudulent purchases on the business' account, and took nearly $37,000 in ticket sales.

The nonprofit just celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. It's run entirely by volunteers and offers scenic train rides to the public.

Krause was arraigned Monday on theft and related charges.
