Fast action by firefighters of Hometown Fire Company kept damage to a minumum Sunday when a smoky blaze broke out inside garages located at Cumberland and Maple avenues. Owner Robert Neifert said a riding mower suddenly burst into flames. Neighbors ran to the site to make sure nobody was inside the building. The blaze broke out about 5 p.m.
