Strutting their stuff Local models featured in Administrative Professional luncheon fashion show
A fashion show featuring local models and fashions by Coldwater Creek of Allentown highlighted the Administrative Professional luncheon Wednesday at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. The event was hosted by Carbon County Chamber and Economic Development and Mahoning Valley Country Club.
After dining on salad, soup and chicken croissant sandwiches, the guests enjoyed viewing the latest spring fashions from Coldwater Creek, as modeled by Dianna Ahner of Mauch Chunk Trust Company, Brittany Frey of Adams Outdoor Advertising, Paula Gower of Home Solutions Partners and Lisa Johnson of Blue Mountain Health System. Each model wore two very different outfits, accessorizing them with jewelry, shoes and handbags.Narrating the fashion show was Marlyn Kissner, CCEDC executive director, who not only expressed her admiration for the outfits, but also shared tidbits of information about the models' personal and business lives during her presentation.A combination of navy and shades of green were predominant in the selected outfits, with Kissner explaining how most of the outfits were versatile as they could easily be worn to work and then function well for afternoon business events and into the evening to after-work functions.Ahner selected as her first outfit a lime green shirt with white polka dots, layered over a lime green tank with lace trim. She paired the shirts with a navy skirt that looked cool, comfortable and casual. Her second outfit was a turquoise shirt with a sleeveless knit sweater underneath. She wore this over a brown, tan and white skirt that had hints of turquoise.Ahner, as an office manager, is often busy, and looks for clothing that is functional, easy to care for and comfortable.Gower's first outfit included while denim ankle pants with cutouts around the bottom, paired with a lime green sleeveless rounded neck top and a lime green and while checkered long sleeved overshirt. The outfit was ready for spring. The comfy ankle pants could be casual or dressy depending on the accessories. The light material of the shirt provided just the right amount of coverage for a day of shopping or a casual evening out.Gower chose to wear as her second outfit black pants and an ivory and black sleeveless top with black lace insert, worn underneath a black semi-sheer jacket. While the outfit was perfect for the office, it was also comfortable and was dressy.Kissner said that Gower's outfit could go from the office to a cocktail hour to dinner and be perfect for all three. She noted that Gower could dress it up or down with jewelry and other accessories. The third model was Johnson, who is the vice president of public relations and marketing for Blue Mountain Health System. Her first outfit was navy, white and lime green as part of business attire and her second outfit was also the same color scheme coordinated as dressed-down business wear.Frey also selected an outfit in the green color group. Her green linen beach pants, tan cami and multicolored open sweater was great for cool breezy nights or heading out to a party. Her second outfit featured black ankle pants with a slouchy black shirt. Frey, an account executive, looks for comfortable business attire that she can wear to a casual mixer right after work.Fifteen door prizes were awarded during the luncheon. Sponsors included: First Northern Bank and Trust, Mauch Chunk Trust Community Bank, Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank, Mahoning Valley Country Club, Penn's Peak Radio and Route 443 Flowers.Table sponsors were Home Solution Partners, Architectural Polymers, Blue Mountain Ski Area, Liberty Oil, Mark Sverchek Agency and Lehighton Wal-Mart.
