A large amount of illegal drugs and a substantial amount of cash were found following a vehicle stop in Monroe County.
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported at 11:48 p.m. on April 18 they responded to 2197 Pine Valley Drive, in Coolbaugh Township, for a report of a man who drove away from Pocono Farms Country Club under the influence of drugs.Officers observed the vehicle in question and saw the driver commit several traffic violations. A vehicle stop was made, and the driver was identified as Rodney Wilcox, 46, of Tobyhanna.Police said Wilcox appeared to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He then admitted snorting two bags of heroin recently. He further told officers there were a few more bags of heroin in his vehicle.A search of the vehicle revealed a substantial amount of narcotics, packaging materials and cash. Wilcox was arrested and transported to the county prison in Snydersville. He was charged with driving under the influence and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.A search warrant was then secured and executed. Police found a total of 87 packets of heroin, five baggies of cocaine, 47 prescription pills and $3,470 in cash.
