The Lewistown Valley Garden Club held its first meeting of the season on March 25 in the social hall of Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. Kathy McGee presided over the business meeting.The club received a thank you card from CareNet. A card shower is being planned for Evelyn Berger, who will celebrate her 90th birthday on April 19. Members discussed traveling to Ott's in September or October to view the mums. Cindy Sabol provided a program on making maple syrup.The Lewistown Club's Annual Spring Tea is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 22 in the social hall of Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Set up will begin at 6:30 p.m. on April 21.Members are reminded to bring tea cups, finger sandwiches and/or desserts. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (570) 668-4288 or 467-3400. Guest speaker will be Lynn of Emma's Friends Soaps and Lotions.The tea committee is Judy Kellner, Louise Flexer and Pam Klitch.St. John LutheranThe Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service this Palm Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will include Holy Communion.Next week's activities include: Wednesday, midweek Lenten service, 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran; April 17, Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m., includes Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altar; April 18, Good Friday, community service at noon at Trinity UCC, 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran; Saturday, bell choir rehearsal, Easter set up, 10:30 a.m. to noon.Easter Sunday service at 9:15 a.m. includes Holy Communion.St. Peter's UnionSunday worship services are held at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. This Sunday's service will include Holy Communion. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. worship service this Palm Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ.
