ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvanians will soon be paying higher fees for a host of motor vehicle and driver services from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The Erie Times News reported Saturday (http://bit.ly/1eE1PYc ) that April 1 will bring higher costs for title certificates, personalized licenses plates and more than 30 other fee categories.

The higher fees were approved as part of the transportation infrastructure law passed late last year that also is boosting gasoline taxes by an estimate of more than a quarter a gallon over several years.

Vanity plates that now cost an extra $20 will jump to $76.

The paper says many of the fees are going up by more than 100 percent. Another round of increases will take effect July 1.
