Carbon County is trying to save money on its electricity.
The county commissioners this morning opened quotes for electric service for all county-owned buildings. The county uses approximately three million kilowatt hours annually.
Six bids were opened after the online bid window closed at 11:30 a.m., with TriEagle Energy submitting the apparent low bid of 7.991 cents per kilowatt hour for a 36-month contract.
The bids are currently being reviewed by officials and will be awarded at 1:30, when the commissioners go back into session.
A complete story will be in Friday's Times News.
