Three Schuylkill County businesses cited by PLCB

Three Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violations of the state liquor code.

McHugh's Brews Inc., 2067 West Penn Pike in New Ringgold, was cited for selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor. The alleged offense occurred on Dec. 27, 2013.The Brown Jug, 1416 E. Grand Ave. in Reinerton, Porter Township, was cited for selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor. The alleged offense occurred on Dec. 4, 2013.The Main Street Bar and Grill Inc., 316-318 S. Main St., Shenandoah, was cited for four violations.The alleged violations include failing to comply with an administrative law judge mandating responsible alcohol management, the offenses allegedly occurred during the period of Aug. 19 to Nov. 23, 2013; failing to post signage as required by the Clean Air Act, on Sept. 30, 2013; failing to maintain complete and truthful records covering the operation of the business for two years; and the licensed corporation was not the only one interested in the operation of the business, citation issued Oct. 23, 2013.These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses, and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. Additionally, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation based on he severity of the offense.
