Brian Gasper was named the new Jim Thorpe Area School District Superintendent Monday night at the Jim Thorpe School Board monthly meeting.

Gasper will replace Dr. Barbara Conway, who has been superintendent since 2007 and is retiring June 30.Gasper, who takes over the job July 1, is currently the principal at the Penn-Kidder Campus K-8.“I am privileged to take over in July as your new superintendent,” said Gasper, thanking the board and those in attendance.He will be paid $110,000 per year.See tonight’s edition for the full story.
