Carbon County officials are looking for a few committed people to sit on the Children and Youth Advisory Board.
During the county commissioners' meeting Thursday, Commissioner Wayne Nothstein, chairman, said that the board has been searching for volunteers willing to fill the five vacancies that are currently open.He said the advisory board meets quarterly.If interested in volunteering, contact the Carbon County Commissioners' office at 570-325-3611. They will then put you in touch with Sallianne Newton, administrator of Carbon County Children and Youth, who can explained what the position requires.In board-related matters, the county also made the following moves on two authorities.Carbon CountyHospital Authority• Appointed Craig Zurn of Jim Thorpe to a five-year term, ending Dec. 31, 2018.• Appointed Jeremy Melber to an unexpired term, ending Dec. 31, 2014.Carbon CountyHousing Authority• Accepted the resignation of Wayne Hockenbury of Weatherly.
