Schools across the region have begun closing ahead of the storm that is slated to hit the area tonight through Thursday night.

As of 7:20 p.m., the following schools in the TIMES NEWS coverage area are closed Thursday:

Carbon County: BHA Schools, CCTI, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Palmerton, Panther Valley, St. Joseph Regional, SS. Peter and Paul, St. John Neumann.

Lehigh County: Northwestern Lehigh

Monroe County: Pleasant Valley

Schuylkill County: Tamaqua, St. Jerome Regional, Marian Catholic.
