A pair of crashes happened within a little over an hour apart Saturday evening in the neighboring municipalities of Lower Towamensing and Towamensing townships.
State Police at Lehighton said the first crash occurred at around 6 p.m. when Remember Rosenberry, 35, of Lehighton, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt along Forest Inn Road, just south of Oak Street in Lower Towamensing Township.The vehicle was traveling south on Forest Inn Road when Rosenberry lost control on the snow covered roadway, causing her vehicle to slide across the oncoming lane and off the left side of the road.It struck a utility pole head on, before coming to final rest.Rosenberry, who was wearing a lap and shoulder belt, was not injured.She has been charged with driving at an unsafe speed.A little over an hour later, a crash occurred in neighboring Towamensing Township, as Aurther Cobb, 30, of Riverside, N.J., was operating a 2006 Hyundai Sante Fe northbound on State Route 209 at around 7:21 p.m.State Police at Lehighton said Cobb was traveling straight when he lost control and traveled off the right roadway, causing the vehicle to strike an electric pole on the right roadside.The vehicle sustained front driver's side fender damage.Cobb was not injured in the accident.He was charged with driving at safe speed.
