Twelve area residents were arraigned Monday on criminal charges before District Attorney Christine Holman at the Schuylkill County courthouse.

All entered pleas of not guilty and requested trial by jury. They were:Lori Ann Bobarsky, 47, of 5 Game Drive, Jim Thorpe, charged by Ashland Patrolman Theodore Buriak Jr., with four counts of aggravated assault on Ashland patrolmen; two counts of simple assault; and one count each of resisting arrest; loitering and prowling around 1233 W. Center St.; belonging to Rhiannon Meyer and Rita Cavanaugh; disorderly conduct; public drunkenness; and harassment.David Joseph Halaburda, 19, of 11 Hotel Lane, Barnesville, charged by Rush Township Sgt. Duane Frederick, with criminal trespass on property at 21 Maple Ave., Barnesville, unauthorized use of credit card, theft of credit card, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief.Richard Orsulak, 44, of 294 W. Mountaintop Road, Summit Hill, charged by Sgt. Frederick with two counts of altering vehicle inspection certificate and license plate, driving while his operating privileges were suspended, fraudulent removal of registration plate and failing to carry car insurance.Albert M. Shaw Jr., 20, of 33 Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua, charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Keith Krapf, with theft of a bicycle belonging to daughter of Sharron Whispell, 105 W. Broad St., and receiving stolen property.Angelo V. Maldonado, 24, of Pines Motel, Claremont Avenue, Rush Township, charged by Rush Patrolman Adam Sinton, with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Travis Edward Boerner, 29, of 34 Nescopeck St., Apt. 1, Tamaqua, charged by Coaldale Patrolman Joseph Krebs, with possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped at Third and Lehigh streets in Coaldale.Joshua Robert McArdle, 22, of 426 Arlington St., Tamaqua, charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell, with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in 100 block on Centre Street.Joseph C. Counterman, 31, of 62 E. Second St., Lehighton, charged by Rush Patrolman Ryan Rehatchek, with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in unit block on Forest Avenue in Barnesville.Francis John Bankes, 46, of 501 N. Railroad St., Apt. 1, Tamaqua, charged by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods, with theft of a potted Mum flower from the porch at 412 Rolling Mill Ave., and receiving stolen property.John Joseph Schaeffer, 20, of 21 Church Street, Barnesville, charged by West Penn Township Chief Brian J. Johnson, with driving under the influence of alcohol on Schuylkill Mountain Road.Terry Scott Kunkel, 52, of 65 River Road, West Penn Township, charged by West Penn Sgt. Jason L. Lorah, with DUI of alcohol on Clamtown Road.Francis Michel Betz Jr., 22, of 49 Hunter St., Tamaqua, charged by Trooper Eric L. Reber with DUI of alcohol on SR61 near the Cressona Mall, and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic.
