Five area residents, who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges, were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin in Schuylkill County court.

Brian Keith Woods, 48, of 259 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, possession of a small amount of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance, placed on probation 12 months, and ordered to pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, and $ for the cost for a bench warrant to bring him into court. Woods was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Joseph Krebs, last May 13 on N. Railroad St.Gemile B. Mehmeti, 26, of 409 E. Ridge St., Coaldale, formerly of Lansford, theft of a coffee maker from Walmart Store, Hometown, Rush Township, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), and make restitution of $307 to the store. He was cited by Patrolman James Patterson.Diane Michelle Robert, 42, of 208 E. High St., Coaldale, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol brought by Rush Sgt. Duane Frederick, after being stopped on Claremont Avenue on Nov. 9, 2012, with a 11-year -ld child in the car, was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months with the first 60 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee followed by four months on supervised release, pay a fine of $2,500, $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend the alcohol highway safety school, received outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours of community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months.On a charge of endangering the welfare of a child must serve an additional 18 months on probation and on a charge of driving while her license was suspended was fined $200 plus $50 costs.David Scott Zellner, 43, of 222 Gay St., Tamaqua, DUI of alcohol, placed on probation six months, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to MCARE fund. Zellner was stopped by West Penn Township Chief Brian J. Johnson, last July 28 on West Penn Pike near the state game lands.Fungai Michael Mugwindri, of 233 Race St., Tamaqua, terroristic threats and simple assault brought by Tamaqua Patrolman Karl Harig, was given credit for serving 162 days in the county prison and was released on probation for 23 months and must have no contact with the victim or victim's children.David Michael Metz, 48, of 218 Bear Creek Road, Summit Station, possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped by Trooper Troy S. Greenawald in Auburn on Oct. 21, 2011, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $100 to SAE fund.Each defendant must also pay addition court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
