The Christmas rush at the Tamaqua Post Office is a record one but the regular force and a substitute force of veterans of World War II are keeping ahead of the continuous flow of cards and packages. Postmaster Morrell E. Devlin said today.
The record for a single day's cancellation of mail - letters mailed in Tamaqua - was set on Tuesday, when 55,354 went through the canceling machine.
