Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 2:53 p.m. Dec. 13 on Hillcrest Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said the accident happened when a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Lorraine Mangat, 66, of Saylorsburg, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Hillcrest Drive. Police said a northbound 2005 Honda Civic, operated by Joyce Malinski, 61, of Saylorsburg, swerved to try to avoid the collision, but the Blazer struck it in the right rear with its right front end.Police said Mangat will be cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
