State police at the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 13 to investigate a hit-and-run accident in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said Patrick D. Clossey, 72, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2004 Buick Century on Route 209 in the township and had stopped to turn left into a parking lot. At that time, an unknown vehicle, traveling north, attempted to pass the Century on the right but the operator misjudged the vehicle causing the vehicles to meet. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Police said it is a dark-colored SUV-type vehicle.Clossey was uninjured.
