Lehighton Police are investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred in the 100 block of South Fifth Street in the borough.

At 6:52 p.m. Thursday, a resident answered his door after someone began pounding on it. The resident was immediately forced inside and struck in the forehead with a semi-automatic pistol.According to police, the offender is described as a black male, light skinned, 5 feet, 10 inches and approximately 165 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had on black gloves. He also wore a black bandana over his face with unknown white markings.Minimal property was taken. The offender was not seen leaving in any vehicle.Anyone with information is asked to call the Lehighton Police Department at 610-377-4003.
