Slatington Woman's Club has named Annelise Tarafas as its Girl of the Month for October.

Tarafas's activities include being the Student Council secretary and the Class of 2014 secretary.She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish Club, SAAD, Senior Video committee and a volunteer for Special Olympics. She is a member of the basketball and track teams.Some of the honors she has received are All-Pro Team, Principal's List, and a Cohen and Feeley "Best of the Best" nominee.Tarafas enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and faithfully watches New York Giants football.She plans to attend a four-year college to study speech-language pathology.Tarawas is the daughter of John and Ann Tarafas of Slatington and has three sisters, Cheryl, Kim and Bridgid and two brothers, Dan and Andrew.
