Lifelong motorcycle enthusiast Roy Edgar 'Poncho' Habel of the village of MaryD passes through Tamaqua's Five Points one final time Tuesday at noon. Habel, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away Thursday and was honored by family and friends with a biker funeral, complete with motorcycle hearse. Pallbearers and many mourners hopped on bikes to escort Habel to his final resting place. The procession traveled a short distance from Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home in the east end to St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery on Dutch Hill. Habel, 64, was a member of the Flying Aces Motorcycle Club, Weatherly, and was well known in the Tamaqua area.
