Police, firefighters and fire police were called to Mahanoy Avenue (SR54), near the
Hometown Farmers Market, just before 5:15 a.m. today after the driver of a tractor trailerarticulated his trailer over an embankment. Police report that the driver missed a turn and wound up backing down the embankment. Crews were careful around the scene as thetrailer was leaning on the sign belonging to Buchheit Logistics Inc. and Elk GroupInternational (also known as the old Morgan's sign). They added that the truck was loaded with batteries. SR54 was closed for a few hours as recovery crews worked to free the trailer.
