Two children were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Schuylkill county on Saturday, Sept. 21, in which the driver of the vehicle they were passengers is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) charge. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 2:37 p.m. along the Gordon Nagle Trail (SR901), in North Manheim Township.
Troopers said Nicole Marie Moore, 27, of Minersville, was driving a Hyundai Sonata northbound when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle drifted into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Kia Soul operated by Debra Skripko, 54, of Llewellyn, Schuylkill County.Two children with Moore, a 5-month old female and a 6-year-old female, were both flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Moore and a 3-year-old male were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, where they were treated and released. Skripko was also taken to the SMC-S, where she was treated and released.Troopers said Moore showed signs of intoxication and is facing a DUI charge, pending blood test results.
