Parts of Tamaqua, Jim Thorpe and Mahoning Township were without electricity this morning.PPL said 293,433 of their customers were in the dark because of the storm. By 9 a.m., about a third had electricity restored.The heaviest winds came overnight, keeping road crews and volunteer fire police very busy.
