A Tamaqua man faces charges in connection with a domestic incident in the borough on Aug. 16.

Officers were dispatched to 215 Brown St. at 4:36 p.m. for a reported domestic assault in progress. Initially, officers were denied entry to the home. When they finally made contact and entered the home, Brooke Moyer and Samantha Whah admitted that Whah and John Muffley, 33, of 245 Van Gelder St., had been involved in a confrontation.Whah did not want to have Muffley charged.A short time later, Whah went to the station and reported that Muffley had slammed her to the ground several times and broke her Motorola Droid X2 cell phone. She had changed her mind and did want charges filed. She was also looking for restitution for the broken phone.
