Hummingibrds are very prevalent and many fans of hummingbirds are doing what they can to keep them in their backyards by provding them with a friendly place.
Hummingbird feeders are stocked with four parts water and one part sugar or nectar to feed the tiny creatures.Their long tapered bill is used to obtain nectar from the outer area of long, tubular flowers.The bird has a long tongue which they use to lick their food at a rate of up to 13 licks per second.The birds are hardy. In temperatres below 28 degrees F., you can prevent the solution from freezing by bringing the feeders in overnight. It is advisable to keep feeding them until the last one disappears for the winter.
