Shawn Bradley left behind a highly successful career in football, wrestling and power-lifting when he graduated from Jim Thorpe in 2006.

In football, Bradley was a four-year letterman and finished his career playing for the 2006 Olympian football team that went 10-1 and played for the first District XI championship in school history.Bradley started all four years at nose guard on defense and anchored the offensive line with solid play at both guard and center. He was named to the First Team All-Anthracite squad and to the Schuylkill County All-Star Team three times along with being named to the 2006 TIMES NEWS All-Star First Team as a defensive lineman. Olympians' coach Mark Rosenberger described him as being "an extremely dedicated athlete who left it all on the field. His overall character and intensity will be greatly missed."Wrestling in the 170-pound weight class, Bradley finished his career with an overall record of 105-36, which placed him fourth on the all-time wins list at Jim Thorpe. As a senior, he finished with a 25-2 overall record and captured the gold medal in the annual Jim Thorpe Christmas Tournament.To close out his senior year, Bradley took up powerlifting and led the Olympian dead lift team to the 2006 USA Powerlifting Pennsylvania State Championship. His lift of 518 pounds in the 181-pound weight class set a state record.Upon graduating from Jim Thorpe, Bradley announced that he would play football and wrestle at Wilkes University beginning in 2007. He achieved a record of 11-5 as a freshman on the Wilkes wrestling team.Bradley later transferred to Kutztown University and earned a degree in 2013.He now resides in Etters, Pennsylvania.Bradley will be inducted along with other members of the 2013 class, which include the 1987 Jim Thorpe baseball team, Eric Schrantz, Erin Kennedy and Joe Rader at the 24th annual Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame banquet to be held on Saturday, August 17 at the Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall.
