A Lake Hauto man will be charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Rush Township on July 3.

Mark Updike, 51, was operating a motor vehicle when he was stopped on Lafayette Avenue. Police suspected he had been drinking and transported him to Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson Street, Pottsville, for a blood test. The test results indicate Updike had a blood-alcohol content of .23 percent, almost three times the legal limit, as well as marijuana in his system.He will be charged with DUI of alcohol and marijuana.
