The Lehighton Municipal Swimming Pool, after being closed all season for repairs, had its official opening on Saturday.
Just prior to the opening, several councilmen inspected the pool and discovered some cracks on the finish of the pool's new floor.Within the first 15 minutes of opening, about 300 youngsters entered. Though the sky was cloudy and a slight breeze was felt, the temperature held in the upper 80s and low 90s for swimmers. There was no admission charge Saturday, but the fee will be 25 cents per day for the remainder of the season.
