State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating a burglary that happened at 3 a.m. July 24 in Girardville.

The victim is Geraldine M. Mortensen, 64, of 4 N. Line St.Police said the incident occurred when someone forcibly entered the victim's residence by cutting a screen on the rear kitchen door. Police said the actor slid open the screen and opened an unlocked window.While inside, the intruder removed food from the refrigerator and stole two Trac cellphones and money from the woman's purse before fleeing in an unknown direction by an unknown means.
