There's a fluffy black cat wandering around Slatington today that owes at least one of its nine lives to the Slatington fire department and a bunch of people who wouldn't take "no" for an answer.
It took nearly an hour of six firefighters using three extension ladders, an animal cage, a snare and a garbage can to rescue the animal, which was apparently too terrified to realize that deliverance lay in the outstretched human hands. The cat neatly evaded its rescuers, meowing the whole time and navigating effortlessly across the roof, which, with eaves and various promontories, made a form of aerial obstacle course for the humans.
