The Carbon County Labor Chapter will meet on Monday, July 15 at 7 p.m. at the Democratic Information Center, 110 S. First St. in Lehighton across from the Senior High Rise Apartments.

The focus of the meeting will be plans for community outreach including booths at the Carbon County Fair, The #9 Mine Historical Festival in Lansford and The Weissport Redneck Festival.The Chapter plans to put on a lighted lantern lift on the Saturday evening of the Redneck Festival. The "lift" will be in recognition of the anniversary of Gettysburg and a celebration of "free labor."The Chapter will also discuss recent and ongoing efforts to weaken the prevailing wage rules in Pennsylvania.All union members, retired and active as well as supportive community members are invited to attend meetings.For more information, call Chapter President Terry Whiteman at (610) 379-0162.
