A driver was cited following a crash in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Thomas J. Jones, 27, of Palmerton, was driving a 2008 GMC eastbound on SR248, just west of the Palmerton off-ramp, in Lower Towamensing Township, when his vehicle side-swiped a 1995 Ford, which was parked on the right shoulder attempting to tow a disabled vehicle. The passenger side of the GMC struck the driver's side rear view mirror of the Ford causing minor damages.After initial impact Jones fled the scene, troopers said, but was later stopped by Palmerton police.He is facing a charge of careless driving, troopers said.
