Patriotic speeches at Heritage Center

Summit Hill Heritage Center which will be hosting a free program on July 4 starting at 11:30 a.m. with selected patriotic speeches from the American Revolutionary period culminating in a noon reading of the Declaration of Independence as it would have been read after being passed by the Continental Congress in 1776.

"This is the second year we are holding the event and folks who attended last year asked that we add some more to it as last year we just read the Declaration," said President Deb Ranck. "The event is free and we hope that folks will come to listen for a half hour before they go to their picnics since this is the reason we remember the holiday."Ranck said the program is free and open to the public. The Summit Hill Heritage Center is a 501c3 non-profit corporation dedicated to social, educational and entertainment programming to promote our heritage and culture. The Center located at 1 W. Hazard Street.
