Carbon club cited by liquor board

A Carbon County social club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violation of the liquor code.

Lansford Legion Home Association, 3 W. Ridge St., Lansford, was cited for violation of the code by possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on their licensed premises. The alleged violation occurred on May 1.The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
