Getting a $50,000 facelift

With no major remodeling done since 1948, the Hometown Fire Company is in the process of updating its fire house. The majority of the work consists of refacing the front exterior, repaving the front parking lot, and epoxying the truck bays. When complete, the outside colors of the fire house will be beige with green trim. Hometown Fire Chief Barry Messerschmidt said that the work, costing about $50,000, will provide a better appearance and also improve on safety. He added his appreciation to community members, businesses and members who donated toward the project via their annual fund drive.
