Two Marian Catholic High School students received awards at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science State Competition, held at the Penn State University Park Campus. Ryan Darrough (left) received an $8,000 scholarship to the Penn State University Park Eberly College of Science and placed second in the state for his Behavioral Psychology project. Patrick Darrough (right) earned second place in the state for his Biology project. The students were accompanied to the event by Robert Valente, a Marian teacher who also served as a student sponsor and an event judge, and Renee Srinivasan. Also sponsoring the students was Lorraine Piehota, a retired Bishop Hafey science instructor.
