There will be a contest for the office of district justice in the magisterial district covering the Pine Grove-Tremont area.
David J. Rossi won the Republican nomination while Laine Mack the Democratic nomination in Tuesday's Primary Election in Schuylkill County.The unofficial returns on the Republican ballot were, David J. Rossi, of Washington Township, an attorney, 1,096 votes, followed by Laine Mack, former Tremont councilman, 483; Keith Hoppes, Tower City, 280, and Daniel L. Daub, Tower City mayor, 277The unofficial returns on the Democratic ballot were, Mack, 666; Rossi, 619; Hoppes, 157 and Daub, 99.The results sets up a November runoff between Rossi and Mack.The incumbent district justice, Carol Pancake. did not seek re-election.The Magisterial District 21-3-04 comprises of the townships of Barry, Branch, Cass, Eldred, Foster, Frailey, Hegins, Hubley, Pine Grove, Reilly, Tremont, Upper Mahantongo, and Washington and boroughs of Pine Grove, Tower City, and Tremont.
