Scott A. Benjamin, 46, of Kelayres, is facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, driving under suspension-DUI related, and traffic violations following an incident in Rush Township on April 24.

Benjamin was stopped on Claremont Avenue at 4:24 a.m. and was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for blood tests.Results of those tests indicated a blood-alcohol content of .074 percent. The legal limit for someone driving while under DUI suspension is .02.Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick also reported that Benjamin's blood sample tested positive for several controlled substances, including methamphetamine.
