Tomorrow night at Penn's Peak, Rick Springfield makes his return.

It's been over three years since he performed at the venue, but for those who attended his last concert, the memories are likely as vivid as if the concert occurred yesterday.He was full of energy. The stage couldn't contain him. He walked along the rail of the Jim Thorpe venue and into the throng of the frenzied ladies who came to see him.Will the same thing happen tomorrow night?"I always enjoy interacting with the crowd," Springfield said in a phone interview. "I enjoy the audience and it's good to see them having a great time."The stop at Penn's Peak is part of his tour promoting his latest album, "Songs of the End of the World."Springfield strayed from his typical pop sound on some of the cuts on the newest CD; getting a bit edgier in the rock department. That shouldn't be surprising considering seeing he did covers from Jimi Hendrix and others at the last concert.Springfield is a singer, actor, and, ask anyone who has seen his concerts, a showman.He has had top 10 hits with the songs "Jesse's Girl," "Love Somebody," and "Don't Talk To Strangers."On TV, he starred as Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime soap opera "General Hospital."He had a lead role in the 1984 film "Hard to Hold."Asked which was tougher, the TV role or starring in the movie, he replied, "Definitely TV. I had to shoot a full episode in a day but with a movie I had months to finish it."He admitted there is consideration being given for another movie role, but can't divulge any information. "I have a few things in the works, but can't really say anything more," the congenial performer remarked.When pressed what he might have considered the highlight of his career, he was quick with a response: "I hope it hasn't happened, yet."Springfield is happily married with two grown sons, ages 24 and 26. Only one has followed his steps as a musician and has his own band.At Penn's Peak, Springfield said he will be singing his hits classics as well as introducing the new LP."I'm looking forward to having a great time and hope everyone enjoys the show," he said.Rick Springfield at Penn's Peak at 8 p.m. Sunday.
