A man who left his wallet at a store in Pine Grove told police $300 was taken from it when he went back to retrieve it the next day.
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said the victim, Harry Lewis Schwartz, 78, of Pine Grove, went into the Food Mart in Pine Grove Township on April 10 at about 6 p.m. to make a purchase. He said he left the wallet on the counter and returned there the following afternoon to get it. When he returned to the store, Schwartz said he retrieved the wallet but the currency was removed from it.
