An Albrightsville man is facing numerous charges after allegedly stealing a car at a casino, stealing a license plate at the Burger King parking lot in Mahoning Township, and attempting to flee from police in New Jersey.

Jonathan Mallison, 31, was arrested after failing to stop after leading police on a chase in New Jersey.Audie Mertz, officer in charge of the Mahoning Township Police Department, said on April 9 at 8:36 a.m., employees of Burger King on Route 443 in Mahoning Township observed a male driving a spray painted black Pontiac Vibe steal the registration plate from another Pontiac Vibe which was owned by an employee of Burger King.The male replaced the employee's registration with another registration plate from the interior of the spray painted Vibe. The male and his female passenger then fled the area.Mertz said police conducted a review of security camera footage in the area. The male was accompanied by a female, and before stealing the registration they had eaten a meal inside Burger King.A records check of the registration plate he attached to the employees car showed it belonged to the Pontiac Vibe stolen at the Casino.Mahoning Township Police used still images from security camera footage to submit a bulletin to the Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center (PACIC). The information submitted was released statewide in the daily Intelligence bulletin.Mertz said on April 10, a PA State Trooper of the Fern Ridge Station observed the vehicle on Route 33. The Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and it failed to do so leading police on a chase from SR33 to I-80 into New Jersey.During the chase spike strips were deployed on I-80. The driver continued to flee into New Jersey where he was forcibly stopped.The vehicle was confirmed as the originally Orange Vibe stolen from the Casino.Mertz said officers found drug equipment in the vehicle as a result it was processed as a mobile methamphetamine lab.Mahoning Township Police have identified Mallison as the male who stole the registration plate from Burger King on April 9.The following charges are pending in the Burger King Incident.Theft by Unlawful Taking (Misdemeanor 3)Receiving Stolen Property (Misdemeanor 3)Fraudulent use or removal of registration plate (Summary) 3 CountsDriving under Suspension (Summary)
