DUI arrests reported
State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently.
A Kunkletown driver is not only facing a DUI count but other charges following an incident that began about 2:50 a.m. on March 14, along Kunkletown Road, west of Old Route 115, in Ross Township, Monroe County.Troopers said they attempted to stop a vehicle at the time and location stated but the driver fled. The driver turned off his headlights to try and avoid officers and drove down a dirt lane. He then drove into a yard where he was prevented from going further due to trees blocking his way.He then stopped and fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued and he was eventually taken into custody. He was identified as Dane James Beers, 20, of Kunkletown. He was charged with DUI, motor vehicle code violations including fleeing and eluding police.On March 15 about 2:20 a.m. troopers stopped Daniel Safiejko, 24, of Effort, along SR209, at Old Route 115, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for an equipment violation. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then transported to the county DUI center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.On Sunday, March 17, about 2:35 a.m. troopers stopped Anton Kosholev, 36, of Philadelphia, along Blue Ridge Road, in Ross Township, for traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence and was taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.Also on Sunday, about 3:40 a.m., troopers stopped Ana-Maria Grigore, 22, of Saylorsburg, along Business Route 209, at Neyhart Road, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. She was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.Seth J. Hoagland, 30, of Saylorsburg, is facing a DUI after being involved in a crash about 3:55 a.m. on Sunday along Old Route 115, south of Hemlock Lane, in Ross Township. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest, troopers said.At 8:20 p.m. on Sunday troopers stopped Stephen Michael Soldridge, 44, of Slatington, along SR209 at the intersection wtih Packerton Dam Drive, in Mahoning Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers added.At 10:50 p.m. on Monday, March 18, Rodney Paul Flanagan, 45, of Kunkletown, was stopped for a vehicle code violation along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. He was found to be under the infuence and placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.
