Big turnout for CYO Easter Egg Hunt in JT

VICTOR IZZO/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Jim Thorpe's Memorial Park was the scene of the annual CYO Easter egg hunt which is sponsored by the Saint Joseph CYO and held every year on Palm Sunday. The Easter egg hunt, now in its 18th year, was attended by hundreds of children and their parents Sunday. The excited youngsters from pre-school to grade 3 swarmed the park grounds to recover an estimated 4,000 colorful eggs that were scattered about. Most of the plastic Easter eggs contained candy, while some contained tickets for toy prizes and a few golden eggs were good for a $5 prize. After the egg hunt, all of the children and parents were treated to free hot dogs and sodas.
