Environmental Center to host ice fishing

The Carbon County Environmental Education Center, in conjunction with Mauch Chunk Lake Park, will host a free family ice fishing program on Sunday, Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will be presented by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Registration is required and space is limited.

The event is designed to provide an overview of Pennsylvania fishes, ice fishing basics, safety and regulations. It will begin with an indoor session at CCEEC, and if conditions permit, continue on the ice at Mauch Chunk Lake.All equipment and bait will be provided, and no fishing license is required. All ages are welcome; however children must be accompanied by an adult.Participants are asked to have their children dressed appropriately for the outdoors.For more information or to register, call CCEEC at (570) 645-8597.
