ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS A mother and her young daughter were taken via ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital in Coaldale following a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of North Railroad Street (SR309) and West Elm Street in Tamaqua. Paramedics were seen caring for the young girl, who's face was covered in blood. The vehicle they were in, registered in New Jersey, was traveling south on SR309 when it rear-ended the back of a tractor trailer parked at the stop light. Responding were Tamaqua Rescue, Tamaqua Fire Department, Tamaqua Ambulance and Lehighton Ambulance. Tamaqua Fire Police volunteers directed traffic around the section of North Railroad Street during the response. No more information was available from police as of press time.
