Four speech finalists, comprised of students from Marian Catholic (MC) and the Panther Valley (PV) high schools, received certificates and monetary awards during the Tamaqua Lady Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 86 Community Service Speech Competition held Tuesday evening at the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua. Students from the Tamaqua Area High School also participated. Members and guests were also treated to snacks and refreshments during the program. Alice Taylor, Chaplain, Lady Harmony Rebekah Lodge, stated her appreciation to the judges, visitors and state officers of the Lodge. The speeches were judged on financial viability, community effectiveness, presentation and overall effort.
