Rush-Ryan seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. held its annual Christmas party Dec. 11 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 44 members in attendance. The event was catered by Christy Joy.Hub and Shirley Becker donated the poinsettia plants used as decorations. Everyone was provided a Christmas sock and candy cane, compliments of Eleanor Schmerfeld, Nancy Godanis and Carol Sedlock.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join. Due to the holidays, the next meeting will be held at 1 p.m., Jan. 8, at the fire company.SS. Peter and PaulFather Wiliam Linkchorst, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Pine Street, has announced the Mass schedule for the Christmas and New Year's holidays.Christmas celebration Masses will be held Dec, 24 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and on Dec. 25 at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.For New Year's, Masses will be held at 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve and at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on New Year's Day.Trinity UCCThe Rev. Thomas Reinsel will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday. Sunday school classes meet at 8:45 a.m.Activities for next week will include: Monday, Christmas Eve candlelight service, with communion, 7 p.m.; Thursday, senior choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.Zion LewistownThe Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. church service. The service will include the annual children's program, featuring the Sunday school and preschool classes.The Christmas Eve service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. and will include communion.Zion LutheranThe Rev. Jeffrey Kistler will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The service will include a ministry of music and a baptism. Sunday school classes will meet at 8:30.Christmas Eve services will be held at 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Both services will include the liturgy of word and sacrament, while the earlier service will include a teaching for children.
