People entering the Jim Thorpe Market during this holiday season are greeted by a duo of helpers who are aiding the Salvation Army in their work to help others. Mary Jane Sterling, a bell ringer for the Salvation Army from Summit Hill and her 5 years old Scottish Terrier Dougall are there together to greet those who stop by. Mary Jane has been doing this for 12 years and Dougall, which means "Dark Stranger" in Gaelic, is her second helper dog. Her first helper dog was named Mac and he was also a Scottish Terrier. Mary Jane said that "its a pleasure just to see the smiles on people's faces when they come in the Market and the kids really love to see Dougall." Mary Jane and Dougall will be at the Jim Thorpe Market from 9:30 to 3:30 every day, except Sunday, until Christmas
