BDWN MEETING
Kimberly S. Noel, editor of Lifestyles Over 50, will speak at the January meeting of the Black Diamond Writers' Network.
A certified senior adviser and owner of Spectrum Senior Consultants, Noel will share her story about how she transformed her experience and talent into a regional magazine designed for older adults.Noel launched Lifestyles Over 50 in 2011, adding value to the services she provides with Spectrum Senior Consultants, Inc., which provides power of attorney and consultations for seniors and their caregivers. She also works as a care manager for Good News Consulting, Inc., a guardianship company.Noel's college studies in journalism and media led her to work at WMGH/WLSH radio stations and later in marketing for malls and nursing homes. She has been involved with many organizations over the years including local chambers of commerce, RSVP, Schuylkill Elder Abuse Prevention Alliance, Inc., the American Cancer Society and others.The BDWN will also meet this Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Tamaqua Public Library. The topic of this meeting will be "Set your 2013 writing goals" and will include a roundtable discussion.Those interested are invited to attend the BDWN meeting on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. The meeting will be followed by a brief critique session for those interested in sharing some of their work or a roundtable discussion.
