Pets parade in Jim Thorpe

The Third Annual Paws Costume Pet Parade was held on Broadway in historic downtown Jim Thorpe on Sunday in conjunction with the ongoing Olde Time Christmas celebration being held there.

Participants dressed up their pets and then met in front of the Opera House for the parade which moved down Broadway to Josiah White Park.After a brief stopover at the Park, the parade proceeded back up to the Opera House where pets were judged for first, second and third place winners.The winners were: 1st place Robin Bierman with Sophie, 2nd place Gayle George with Cali, and 3rd place Gary & Melissa DeGalo with Paxton.There was also a raffle held on a large basket filled with home made doggie treats donated by Jennifer Rimsky, "No Bones About It" who makes home made dog biskuts.Winners ribbons were made by Ruth Bush and prizes were donated by Lola's Pet Store.A portion of the proceeds will go to the Animal Shelter.
